Yes, parents should be aware that you can vape marijuana. |
Which is why I asked earlier if certain schools have started to enforce either suspensions or expulsions for the sale, possession, or use of vaping devices on school grounds. |
Not 7th - maybe older kids or high school... |
I don’t think so. It’s called something else isn’t it? |
Again, just because you haven’t heard of it doesn’t mean it’s not there. |
I ask my kid these questions regularly and this is what I have learned. You can use a “hack” to fill the nicotine pods with THC oil. Yes, kids do this and the pot smell is minimal. |
This is PP. To be clear, i am talking about hacking juul pods. |
You don’t know that for sure. You can’t just say that unless you absolutely know for sure. These are small grades and serious allegations. Most parents don’t just think this is something everyone is doing. When we hear about potential substance abuse it’s serious. I wouldn’t want my child to hang around with someone involved with that and would want to know. |
I know, it would be so shattering if it happened at your child’s school but wake the hell up. |
I know for certain that 8th graders at STA are vaping/juuling. |
OK, I'm not going to name the school, because it really doesn't matter. What you clearly don't get is that I said in an earlier post that there was a significant vaping problem at this particular school last year. The problem has decreased to a significantly lower level because as I said before, my son has not seen any vaping happening in the school's restrooms, courtyards, or classrooms. That's not to say it isn't happening in the parking lots or right outside the campus. It just proves that the school has handled the problem appropriately because the kids no longer do it on school grounds...or if they do, it is at a significantly lower level than last year. Why would I be clueless to believe this? Also I believe my son has never tried it because he has no interest in it and doesn't associate with the type of kid that vapes (the lax bros). Oh, and he doesn't drink alcohol either. Go ahead, tell me I am naive. Just because your kid is delinquent doesn't mean mine and everyone else's is. |
|
PP, it just means the kids have gotten smarter about it. Killing kids aren’t lax bros are delinquents— to say that is just cruel and dismissive. They are no more problemstoc or less loved than your child. Your school is not more immune to this than any other school. By not acknowledging the problem yourself you are just putting your head in the sand, though it sounds like your school, along with most schools are doing the best they can. They schools need help from parents and it seems like you may be one of the parents who don’t think this is a problem. It does affect your child and to ignore it or think it isn’t big deal because your child “may” not be around “those” kids or it isn’t happening in the classroom or bathrooms means you may not be really engaging with your school or child. I bet your child can name the kids who juul. These are marginalized kids especially in a private school. They are in the 6-10 person class with your child. Your child spends more time with them then you.
I am not saying your kid will juul but teens are tricky. They have a secret life which is age appropriate. |
This statement is likely misleading because more kids are into this than most parents realize and they are not marginalized by their peers. |
I understand no one wants to be a tattletale but why don’t kids tell if they know these kids are doing it? |
Are you even at a private school or do you just come on the private school thread to try to stir up angst for parents? If you’re not at a private school then you should not be speaking on behalf of them. |
