I'm sure Pp is only furious because the CIC is the person she voted for. I'm sure pps opinion would be different if the CIC was 42 or 44. |
Yes we should hide the wrong doings over our leaders. |
+1. Transparency helps us fix things that are wrong. Hopefully trump will be more careful in what he says to the next person he tries to 'comfort'. Then again, this is the guy who made a speech in front of the CIA memorial to staff in the line of duty and spent the whole time talking about how many people went to his inauguration. |
Besides being a rude comment to say to someone whose husband has been blown to bits, Trump's words indicate a dangerous attitude towards people in combat. If you can rationalize that these men 'knew what they were signing up for,' you won't feel as bad when they are killed and might not take as much care to avoid conflicts.
THIS - the comment makes it sound like Trump thinks these are his toy soldiers to play with. Combined with his inability to exhibit any diplomatic skills, it's particularly chilling. |
Do you not see how a discussion about knowingly risking your life to serve your country is different than a discussion about a rotting corpse? |
Me too. He is a shameful excuse for a leader. |
True. People don't seem to be upset that the guy died - arguably unnecessarily. They're just upset that Trump came off as insensitive. |
Next time there is a policeman killed in the line of duty, let's all say, "well, he knew what he signed up for.. but I guess it still hurts anyways", and see how that plays out with Trumpsters. |
BTW, the people who are criticizing Rep. Wilson should give it a rest. Their Orange leader is the one who started politicizing this whole conversation the time he started "whataboutism" about other presidents in similar situation. Gawd, these cultists will never acknowledge what an awful human being he is! |
And you are perfectly okay when people simply shrug their shoulders and say, "oh well, it's goes with the job," when a soldier, marine, sailor, police officer, fireman lose their life. It is after all what they all signed up for, including your child. That's sad. |
How about he say something like this:
"knowing he might die, he still wanted to serve his country. He was a true patriot, and we are indebted to him, and to you and your family. My thoughts are with you." Not that hard. And I'm no word smith either. |
Yes, this WH staff is the soul of discretion. |
And I think the widow also took this publicly, did she not? |
The dead husband in question worked at Walmart, signed up for the congresswoman's mentorship program, and worked his way up to an elite level of the military. He is 1000X the man Trump is. |
So were DNC's emails but Trump had no problem teling wikileaks to make more of them public ![]() |
