False. You are talking about the wrong school.

Another dumbshit who doesn't know Penn State and UPenn are two different schools.

Not quite. UPenn is the Philadelphia campus. Penn State what most people call the College Station campus, although there are also branches in Erie, Altoona, Brandywine, etc.

Holy cow are you wrong. UPENN IS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT UNIVERSITY. Yes, Penn State has like 40 campuses. UPenn is not one of them. Dumbass.

The campuses have different focuses. UPenn has Wharton and the med school, State College has ag and engineering. Pretty common set up - UNC is other state that comes to mind.

Nobody.....and I mean nobody......is this stupid. Obvious troll.

This might help pp....

http://www.psu.edu/
http://www.upenn.edu/

The web site. if UPenn was a sub campus, it would be called out. Instead, UP is a private Ivy League School. PSU is a publicly funded Big-Ten school

Precisely.

Every state system including Penn comes with a certain stigma. The Cal system is pretty hippy dippy. Penn's has a scrappy middle class vibe. I doubt the football scandal hurt Wharton students but not everyone realizes those are two separate campuses. And Wharton students can get tickets to attend games at Happy Valley, so there's a lot of overlap.

not really - there's a reason why psu's endowment sucks.

A quick Google search shows a $1.8 (main campus only) - $3.5 billion (systemwide) endowment. That's one of the highest endowments for a state school.

^^ Not enough to compensate the Ped state victims.

They should sell the school and pay the kids lives are ruined. The dummies who love JoePa or don't understand why they may have to miss a whole football game are academuc midgets anyway.

do you realize how many psu alums there are? the giving rate is terrible and considering how much 'support' psu gets from its rabid fan base, that should tell you everything.

1.8 is low for a flagship school.

university of washington for example is from a state that has half the population and has a billion more.

and uw grads are not as cultish about their school. i just used uw as an example.

The response of the student body, and alums as represented by comments on this thread, to the scandal absolutely give me a negative impression of penn state. The whole lot of them come across as tone deaf, ignorant apologists.

Sure. You know the opinions of all of the hundreds of thousands of alumni?

Wharton denounced Sandusky and did not want the Joe Pa statue put back. It was the main campus, University Park, in State College that rioted for Joe Pa. Philly campus had NOTHING to do with that.
