It wasn't an accident. They were negligent and I would be furious. I'm not sure what you can do about it. I'd never leave another animal with them. I'm so paranoid when I leave my pets while on vacation. Even my vet says that you'd be surpised how many pets come in injured, sick (or reported missing) while under the care of pet sitters. I leave strict instructions when we leave and make clear that they are to be followed to the letter, and we pay well. So far (Knock on wood) we've been lucky. I'm so, so sorry. |
I find it ridiculous you're such an insensitive asshole. So I guess we're even. If you have nothing to contribute, piss off and go to the political thread. |
I tend to agree with this. Get or borrow a humane trap and bait it with the bunny's favorite treats. We've loaned ours to neighbors who caught their cat (weeks after it was gone) on the first night. I don't want to get your hopes up but do it sooner rather than later. |

MC Animal Shelter has bunnies. If you live in MC I would check just in case. Also, if you decide to replace the bunny it is a great place to get one as you are saving a pet. Good luck! http://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/animalservices/asd/lostandfound.html

Seriously. for that kind of money, call me. I will never let your bunny out of my sight! Bunny can sleep in my bed! |

The kid sounds stupid as hell. Who lives an animal outside and then goes inside to the bathroom? She couldn't hold it for five minutes?
I would be FURIOUS. |
| Sorry OP. That sucks. If you get another pet, I'd plan for an adult pet sitter. |
Thanks for the link! But we live all the way out in Chevy Chase. Thinking that would be a loooong way for a rabbit to hop. We've pretty much agreed he will not be coming back, despite our best efforts. |
Actually, no, they are not wild animals. They are domesticated animals for whom we take responsibility of guardianship. That's a sacred thing. When you agree to care for a living thing and you make it reliant on you (or humans in general), then it is a serious thing. |
Omg, typical human totally over valuing herself. You are not that essential. |
Um...humans are pretty essential to domesticated animals that have no idea how to survive in the wild. A pet bunny is not going to survive on its own for very long, sadly. |
