OP here: I guess I haven't thought about it that way and now that I do, I agree 100%. I am a nurse and nurse week/teacher appreciation week overlap in may. I always spend the week making cards, getting gift cards, flowers, etc for my kids' teachers (this year we also went to the school and drew/wrote messages on the concrete with sidewalk chalk.) Meanwhile what I got for nurse appreciation was... well, nothing nobody really cared or did/said anything. I wasn't surprised or even upset or anything, because it's like that every year and I am used to it. I still think teachers need all the praise and appreciation they can get, because I see how much work and thought goes into it. But it would be nice if we could "spread the love" so to speak. |
