no way, not even a real job. Most people have to do this in ADDITION to a real job. |
+ a thousand |
Teachers and nurse make up the largest group of women who elect child free living. Without kids, teaching is an easy job. |
+1 And the benefits. Taking care of the elderly or being a nurse -- now thats a hard, undervalued job. |
+3 Ever notice how a successful dentist is always closed on Fridays? |
|
Mine, of course! |
The woman at the deli counter at a grocery store I frequent is very kind and courteous. She was telling me issues where the store is trying to cut people's hours and the union does nothing about it. Dealing with this crap and serving customers all day is not easy. She has my respect. |
I hope she is getting paid for those hours. |
Nanny is a thankless job. The parent don't acknowledge your contributions and minimize your importance in their kids lives. "but I'm the mom" yeah but the nanny is the one with your kid 60 hours a week. Who is more of an influence in their life?? |
News reporter. |
[b] Most are narcissists anyway so who cares about people in the news |
Teachers get a whole week of appreciation. I'm not saying it's hard, but I don't think it's thankless. |
I'm not saying it's *not* hard work |
I would say being a nanny.
(Before you claim that working as a nanny is not "real" work, I have to disagree. Nannies provide a much needed service for families & they are financially compensated for it. If that isn't a REAL job, then I don't know what is. Yet many people do not consider it a legitimate way to earn a living. |
