Gentrifers watching a movie on the grounds of Congressional Cemetery. Disrespectful or Hip & Urban?

Prostitutes roamed it openly.

Comparatively, watching movies is a vast improvement.

Grow up![/quote]

You had me until "grow up". That makes no sense.

I'm not backing off of my "grow up" response because I live in Capitol Hill and take an active role in life here. Growing up here means dealing with things as they are. In CC's case, things are better. If you want to change them, join our community.

Otherwise, you're just a naysayer who for all I know could live next door to the Palins. Oh well, to each his own.

If they really wanted to, the gentrifiers could easily experience their own real life horror movie just by crossing the bridge and walking over to Barry Farm at night.

Not the PP your responding to but you seem to think these are solemn get togethers. They're not. We're there for hours with music (definitely not classical music), dancing and alcohol. You're honoring your loved one and life - and life isn't quiet and contemplative. Oh - there's also a fight every couple years, too. When you've got that many people drinking together, tempers can flare. It's also not unheard of for someone to throw up or for a kid to take piss there. Diapers aren't common where I'm from.
