Why do American millennial women (all races) all sound the same when they talk?

I'm giggling at the idea that disco music represents the pinnacle of high-quality dance music.

Actually, I'm also giggling at the idea that Big Music isn't making vinyl records any more these days because it's not worth it because the music is too bad. Big Music is happy to sell no end of digital stuff I consider awful. Plus there are certainly people making vinyl records -- it's retro cool. They're making cassette tapes, too.

Do you not realize how many times danceable r&b music from the 1970s has been sampled by modern artists during the past 25 years?

I had never heard of 'vocal fry" before reading this thread.
Today I had a customer service rep on the phone who had vocal fry, upward inflections, and loud sighs as she was trying to set up an automatic transfer.
Soooo annoying to listen to.
I wish she could hear a recording of her voice.....maybe it would help.

I expect that she thinks she sounds fine. Just as you probably think you sound fine.

But clearly many people find it annoying.

The ending every sentence with a question is so annoying. So are all the "likes".

I'm a millenial woman. No vocal fry but I agree it's annoying. I don't hang out with anyone who talks like that.

It's not just millenial women. Have you heard Senator Gillibrand speak? Not vocal fry, but upspeak galore. It is ridiculous.

One of the top 10 selling albums of all time.
Claimed sales of 40 million.
We are talking about actual physical copies sold not stupid downloads.

The musicianship on these songs is quite strong.
We are talking about orchestras with real life breathing, living musicians not some skinny jean DJ with a beard using a stupid computer.

There was no sales tracking system back then like there is today.

^Ok. You seem to have some kind of vendetta against digital downloads.

Make your own thread for your crazy luddite opinions.
