| Does TJ have any notable alumni? |
Rigorous HS programs produce successful doctors, researchers, patent lawyers, professors, scholars (Rhodes, Fullbright, Macarthur etc.) . TJ produces these types. Its relatively early for Nobel laureates. |
No. Not that I know of. Kids who are forced to perform never get that far. These kids will fizzle out by college/post college. |
You sound bitter and envious. TJ kids do not have to be forced to perform. |
| Who cares? I think when you have a test in program in one of the most educated counties in the US the result is smart kids with impressive results. I do wonder if the county gives TJ too much attention rather than other schools? Also I think schools like Sidwell and Cathedral schools are rigorous just in a different way. The kids who make up these schoolS are different than kids at TJ and Blair. More wealth versus immigrant strivers. |
Not bitter and not envious. "Its relatively early for Nobel laureates." Give me a f*cking break! |
TJ parents don't understand this. |
Sure they do. Schools like Sidwell and others rely on White privilege and connections. TJ parents are not stupid as some might have you believe. |
Nobel prizes are usually awarded decades after the significant work was actually done (usually in 30s, 40s, 50s). |
I beg to differ. |
Apples don't fall far from the tree. |
What a stereotypical racist thought. |
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobel_Prize_laureates_by_secondary_school_affiliation I don't see any from TJ but one from Fairfax HS. The Bronx has 8. Now, that's impressive!!! |
NYC magnet schools have been around lot longer than TJ. |
Only the rotten apples fall from the tree...
