LOL DCUM is anonymous, people can make up whatever crap they want.

Yes they can, but remember that over 50 kids from the DC area went to Harvard alone last year. The comments are skewed by the timing of school announcements, but not all unrepresentative of the caliber of the kids in the local area.

I tend to believe the posters since the timing of their posts coincides so precisely with the dates on which those early admissions decisions have come out. Only someone whose child was actually currently going through the process would know that. I expect we will here about Y and P shortly.

Wow- no one on college confidential seems to have heard yet. Is your DC an athletic recruit?

I'm that PP: Architecture & Urban Planning. This is a very un-athletic kid.

NP here. DC looked into architecture at various schools a few years ago, and U Mich's architecture school is separate from the liberal arts college. Although DC ended up not applying, I'm going to guess that U Mich's architecture school has its own admissions process.

My DD is in WPI. So that's two safeties. She said if she gets accepted to GA Tech or Boston College as well, she can then relax completely because she could go to either of those schools and be happy.

She's a good candidate for both.

I just want her in a school where she is happy. If not, there's always transfer I guess.

My kid brother got into Virginia Tech engineering ED last week, though this board seems to really hate VT.

Congratulations.

The hatred comes from those who hate anything in Virginia and those in Virginia claiming bragging rights as among the many good state schools. Ignore them.

Good for your brother. That's a good program. He should be happy and proud of himself.
