What if kids got into other schools on a rolling basis before December? Does that count, or is this just supposed to be the December EA/ED club?

That's the worst because it makes your DC hold out hope even though a very small percentage of deferred kids make it in. Mine was deferred last year - would have been better to be denied as DC might have then done an ED2.

I believe if deferred on an ED; you are free to apply elsewhere ED 2. What school was the deferral?

Of course. But because my DC was deferred she held out hope and didn't want to do ED2 at a second choice.
