| How safe is it for a 5 year old to be climbing out of her crib every day, or do you go get her every morning? |
| There's no shame at all in letting older kids sleep in a crib (as long as they want to, of course). Just make sure they wear a pull-up in case they need to go to the bathroom at night. |
|
Cant you put up bed rails to recreate a "safe" environment?
How is she getting out? Does she have to call for you everytime she needs to pee at night or when shes awake on the morning? |
Op's kid is 10 yr old by now! |
Does she still nurse and wear diapers? Absolutely ridiculous for you to allow this |

Uh, take the crib apart and give it away. Crib's gone. Now you can try the toddler bed, the floor with a sleeping bag, the crib mattress on the floor, the new twin bed, or literally any other option.
Take away the crib and it won't be an option. Duh. |
I'm not. |
| Ikea has a twin bed with tent- it's essentially the same idea of having an enclosed-cocoon- space. |

My kids both liked transitioning to a loft bed where the bottom bunk slides in perpendicular to the top one. When in the bottom bed, on one side there was a closed wall (desk on the outside) and the other side was a bookcase. Very nest-like, darkish and 'cool'. I just kept the ladder off until they were older, but not a worry at 5.
I think the crib is okay but I would think walking through this developmental stage is better. A canopy might be nice for her too. |
| 13:40 here just realizing this is from 2014. |
| A five year old in a crib is crazy. |
| This might be the weirdest damn thing I’ve ever read on dcum. And that’s saying a lot. |
+1 |
| So does mine |

Do you have really tiny children??? At 2 it was getting tight, 3 uncomfortable and 4 she couldn’t stretch out without bumping the ends. |
