I am a scientist. I am paid to solve problems. As long as the work is done properly, my clients do not care where or when. I am basically paid to think, and that leads to a good work/life balance. Salary is about 175K

I am an association executive director -- the association is about a $1M/revenue/year. I make $113k + benefits (which is a little on the low side) I have a 4 day work week and can work from home whenever I need. We have one large event a year that takes me away from home for about a week and I travel maybe 3x a year aside from that.

Eventually, when my kids are older, I'll move to a larger association with more travel and less balance -- but then I won't need it as much.
