Seeing as it's the only large financial svcs firm in Tyson's.... |
| I know tons of people who don't do much and get paid well over $100k, World Bank. |
Wow! I find this amazing. That is an associate degree, correct? Is this for real? |

Agreed, my boss is one of them! |

Re: ultrasound - that is correct, the entry point is a 2 year degree. My relative has a four year degree in radiologic technology plus an extra year for ultrasound. She has passed all registries as well (specializing further, i.e., vascular). She picks up extra work at two hospitals and a clinic whenever she has time. But the money is quite good even at the entry point.
On that subject, mammography, radiologic, and MRI techs are also paid quite well. |
You're thinking of the "big scores" that make the headlines in the newspapers. Most big law partners, investment bankers and certainly tech executives are well, well below these levels! |
| Mojang was bought by Microsoft for 2.5 billion. You can always write a computer game. |
| Senior staff at a non-profit. 120k, amazing benefits, 100% telecommute. |
Wow- worked as senior staff at a nonprofit for 7.5 years and telecommuting was not allowed at all.. Would love to work at your nonprofit! |

And they get upset when someone asked them to describe their job description. I know someone at the World Bank who makes close to $250 K. He recently got his accounting degree online (Bachelor's). He was promoted from security to assistant to a project manager to managing a group of over 30 people ... |
sounds like one of the government agencies I worked for...
|
World Bank is well known for over paying their employees. No one ever leaves there. They could never compete in a real industry. |
| I make 150K as a consultant to nonprofits on government relations and I can telework if I don't have in person meetings. The downside is that it feels a bit unstable- like could lose a client if they lose funding. |
