Through the ages --- people were indoctrinated into religion and burned at the stake if they said didn't believe. Luckily that has changed. Things could be better though -- you still can get elected to congress stating that you're an atheist. |
You have found your peace. Allow others to also bask in their Godly peace. Thank you. |
Frankly, it sounds like you accept the good things God supposedly does for you and just don't worry about the horrible things that good lets happen to others. God does some really great things and some really awful things and you see this as part of a plan you are not meant to understand instead of being random. It allows you to feel special when something good happens to you and not to bother yourself with the suffering of others. |
Is having a discussion about these things a form of not allowing others to bask in the Godly peace? |
|
You are incorrect. I've already responded to this same comment multiple times. I give up. |
Yes, it is a fact that some people have faith. That doesn't mean that what they have faith in is factual because that have faith in it. Are we on the same page now? |
Again -- you don't understand faith! It is NOT FACTUAL. If it were factual, IT WOULD NOT BE FAITH!! Faith does not prove the existence of God -- it just makes God's existence feel real to those who have faith. Why do so many people believe in something there is no proof of? |
Absolutely. My original comment was inspired but the "what if you're wrong" comment, which caused me to roll my eyes. That mindset, to me, isn't about finding peace rather believing out of fear. But I realize that's my experience based on my own journey. YMMV, of course. |
Calm down! Just because there is not proof that fits your standards does not mean there is no proof that fits other people's. I am not mad that you believe in God, why are you mad that I do? |
|
yeah, right - proof is relative, right? when it comes to god.
Just ask a proud Person of Faith. |
Rama. |
because it's comforting. Because so many others seem to believe it. Because it's the most socially acceptable stance (at least up to now). Because most people were taught to believe, as children, by the people they love and respect and depend on the most. Because people are afraid of the consequences if they don't believe. |

New to this forum and haven't rad others' posts.
I am convinced that God *does* show Himself in *many* ways but people just aren't seeing Him. Probably makes him very sad. :*( Pray, get closer to God, read a lot, and you will start seeing Him in so many ways. |
