Yes they will take it back.

Kirkland Jasmine rise is terrible. I will be returning a bag that I bought. It cook up strange and there is no aromatic flavor. The Jasmine rice from Trader Joe's is so much better!

I suppose there is no harm in rinsing it 1, 2 3 or more times. But is that really necessary?

And folks....this is why Americans simply make the most disgusting rice on earth.

Be careful about about rice from that area. Look up arsenic and rice and you will find some scary info.

Iโ€™m Thai and only by jasmine rice from Asian grocery stores, and only if theyโ€™re marked โ€œproduct of Thailandโ€ I also look for a tag with the crop year. Right now I have a 25lb bag from 2019 and it smells heavenly!

Just for the record, I'm European and would never cool rice without rinsing it. I mostly make risotto and rice pudding and tend to buy arborio rice. I also like jasmine rice from Trader Joe's.

At Costco, we mostly buy non-perishable foods, frozen foods and cheeses, plus household supplies and basic clothing items.

A little kindness in the hearts of anyone leaving judgmental cultural comments, would do nicely. Not any one culture knows everything about everything. Being kind to each other as we are all learning is free and feels right deep in your heart if you search it well.

Peace and happy rice rinsing 12 times for safe measure. ๐Ÿš ๐ŸŒพ

- rinsing makes it taste way better
- yes keep rinsing in cool water even if you canโ€™t โ€œsee anything rinsing offโ€
- itโ€™s kind of a ritualistic fun thing you do in the kitchen
- itโ€™s good measure
- it does clean away impurities
- it prepares the rice for cooking well

No.

Wash the rice. Then cook it. Watch youtube. Who does not know that you have to wash rice? Quality of products in costco is pretty good.

Rinse it 3-4 times only.

I bought a big bag of rice in a burlap bag recently and it smells and tastes like the burlap. I'm giving it to the dog.

Really? I have never heard anyone say that, ever.

Are you a pregnant female by any chance?

I love the smell of Costco. Itโ€™s very nostalgic to me.

Costco is my favorite, just bring the rice back, theyโ€™ll take it.

I once found bugs โ€” living and dead โ€” in a box of dates I bought from there. (The bugs were in the dates). I rarely return things, but I was in the areaโ€ฆ the employee looked horrified and gave me my money back.
