Costco- what to buy and what NOT to buy (rice)

Costco has the best return policy, but food items will be discarded.

Rice casseroles are good idea. I also cook rice with some meat/chicken and veggies for our dogs. They love that.

What do you mean by three times? I just rinse it in a fine colander where the water falls through

A little kindness in the hearts of anyone leaving judgmental cultural comments, would do nicely. Not any one culture knows everything about everything. Being kind to each other (as we are all learning) is freeโ€ฆ and feels right deep in your heart (if you search it well).

- rinsing makes it taste way better
- yes keep rinsing in cool water even if you canโ€™t โ€œsee anything rinsing offโ€
- itโ€™s kind of a ritualistic fun thing you do in the kitchen
- itโ€™s good measure
- it does clean away impurities
- it prepares the rice for cooking well

Peace and happy rice rinsing 12 times for safe measure. ๐Ÿš ๐ŸŒพ

Sincerely,

Your fellow human heart buddy โ˜บ๏ธ

Not everyone knows, so yes, be kind!

Stop saying to wash the rice, you rinse it. Thereโ€™s no soap, youโ€™re just running water over it and draining it off.

I rinse my rice 3-5 times also, until the water is clear. And op, I buy the same rice from Costco and we like it a lot. Maybe you got a bad bag? One time I got a terrible bag of jasmine rice from the Asian store and I couldnโ€™t wait until it was gone. It happens sometimes.

As far as what to buy from Costco, we always buy their coffee. Love the Peets brand, but we also get the Costco house blend or Columbia roast or the Starbucks brand. The 4 pack of tofu is my absolute favorite brand for tofu. So good. Love their margarita mix too. Clothes, shoes, pillows, blankets, towels, candy, medicine, vitamins, contact solution, cleaning supplies, door mats, tires for my car, books, and even furniture. We buy a lot from Costco.
