| Millennial here. The Baby Boomers actually did the hard work for feminism and the civil rights movement, instead of whining about triggers. |
Nursing homes . . . well, because the boomers also brought scientific and technological advances that keep people alive longer. The same advances have allowed people who previously died from many diseases and maladies to live. Horrible, I know. Daycare centers . . . maybe because their parents were working in urban centers and not on the farm anymore. They were not at home to take care of the boomers' kids. Also boomers could no longer survive on one income due to the development of the rest of the world and competition. Maybe they should have tried to keep those other countries down by creating more wars? Illegal Mexican immigrants . . . this really started back when Reagan was president and he was not a boomer. He was the one who started the whole anti-union phenomenon. Urban sprawl started right after WW2 when the parents of boomers decided to have lots of kids. Boomers actually have had fewer children. You really have to put this on the "Greatest Generation". They loved interstate highways and cars. Urban decay had more to do with desegregation than anything else. The boomers were teenagers when that happened. Again, "Greatest Generation". Made in China cheap goods . . . Nixon. Not a boomer. Union busting . . . Reagan. Loss of pensions . . . started with Reagan. Broken homes . . . probably exacerbated by loss of unions and higher paying jobs. Harder to maintain a household. More stress. Too big to fail industries . . . prisons and education? Were those the "too big too fail industries" that sent us into the recession??? Huh??? |
Rosa Parks was not a Baby Boomer. Boomers like Hilary Clinton simply followed in daddy's footsteps and attended college. What heavy lifting? White flight out of the inner city schools when faced with integration? |
Oh so rosa parks was older therefore we should pretend that those hundreds of twenty-something freedom riders or the young people sitting in at the Woolworth counter or those three kids killed in Mississippi never existed? Your logic is awful. |
Or the Great Society/War on Poverty--brought to you by LBJ--not a boomer |
HUH? Did Detroit have segregation? |
DUH. Yes, it did. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detroit_Wall |

The problems aren't the fault of the people who took out the shaky loans, it's the bankers who gave them out. But when I looked up the founder and CEO of Countrywide Financial, the prime example of mortgage excess, it turns out he was born in 1938. So he was part of the "Greatest Generation". So Countrywide itself was not "under their watch". And when I look at the mortgage brokers approving these loans, I saw tons of Gen X'ers making fast money. If you were born in 1938 than you are part of the Silent generation, not baby boomer. Also, Hillary Clinton will be 70 years old and she is a boomer. |
| No, greed ruined America. |
yup, greedy boomers |
