Hello, I am a NP and am very interested in hearing more about ACPS for elementary school.

My husband and I are separated, and we actually both live in separate residences in Alexandria: I am in the Maury ES district and he is in the Mount Vernon Community School District.

Our DS will be starting Kindergarten in the Fall, and we aren't sure where to register him, or if we will have either option. From what i gather, we could be better off having him where I live, enrolled in Maury?

Does anyone know if we will have a choice of either, given we have two residences in the city?

Maury is traditional-schedule; MV is on the alternate school-year schedule. Maury has become a really popular option in town; MV is perceived as being captive to the Del Ray community groups. Both are good options, but if you're looking for a more traditional school environment, Maury. Start a new thread on this. And ignore the "ACPS is terrible" trolls.
