Is the quality of the Blair Magnet Program going down?

Who cares.... The point is pp said poolesville was diverse and it was a bold faced lie. Whether Blair was diverse or not in the past is of no consequence.

Nobody said poolesville was diverse.

Looks like this really bizarre thread was started by a bored Poolesville student(s).

I wish Poolesville all the best. But its students are doing a truly shameful job of representing it.
- Boldfaced lies about demographics
- Thinly veiled references to race (another vote of thanks to the PP who pointed this out)
- Transparent rhetorical strategies not used by anyone over the age of about 12. For example, the circular reasoning.
- Lazy factual support. Demanding other posters provide data. Then saying "go check that" to data you don't want to believe.
- Posters claiming to have insight into "Blaire" who can't even spell the name correctly.

C'mon, Poolesville kids! Have some pride, and show us your real smarts!

PP again. I should add: I'm sure your school is great, and getting greater. No need to tear anyone else down, though. Show us you're really smart in a legit way.

Looks like a person desperate to make sure house value does not fall.

Nobody said poolesville was diverse.

Thank God we are not. We have very little crime, I don't recall an armed robbery in the last ten years, and people still leave their doors unlocked when they go out. Try doing that in Silver Spring.

If this isn't a racist statement, I don't know what is.

That has nothing to do with diversity and everything to do with population density.

And this racist statement means what for the relative strengths of Blair and Poolesville? Oh right, it has nothing to do with anything. I feel like I'm arguing with a racist 12-year-old.

How is a racist statement unless you assume that minorities commit the majority of the crime?

That was surely the assumption of the original poster.

But there are diverse schools - QO and Northwest just to name 2 that have a McD across the street that does not require police presence when school lets out.

So it is not a diversity issue - it may be a population issue - but there are safer diverse schools, Blake being one downcounty.

I think all the magnets are amazing - but I think they should be more transparent about the diversity of the magnet student body.

Could you take yourself on over to the Private School forum, please? We try to quarantine all the racist snots and mean jerks there. I'm sure your kids (if you have any kids, although there's a good chance you're a sadsack single man hunched over a 10-year-old PC in your filthy efficiency apartment) are in private school any way.

Interesting. Someone who probably lives in Poolesville says that they don't have any crime because diversity hasn't reached them yet.

On the other hand people who don't live in Poolesville lash out at someone who says that diversity is the cause of the crime in their neighborhoods. They won't answer the question.

Who is responsible for the crime in the lower part of the county?

Okay, enough of this. Obviously, the "someone" in question is you. You seem to believe there is a link between diversity and crime. That is an interesting topic for you to discuss in a thread that is either about diversity or crime. It doesn't belong in this thread. In fact, it doesn't belong in the schools forum.
