OP, the PP who wrote about her DC's pneumonia had a compelling tale. Perhaps your husband might be swayed by that?

In the alternative, perhaps you could bill the dog's departure as a trial separation. You could agree to send to dog to friends for a month. During that time, you thoroughly clean the house, shampoo carpets, etc. You both agree to see if DD is doing better after that month. You even say you will consider bringing dog back if there is no improvement. Husband agrees to consider making departure permanent when he sees how much healthier his daughter is.
