It's funny that the GOP is throwing a tantrum about gays in the military because it supposedly weakens national security. Meanwhile the biggest issue likely to impact America's security in the coming century is going to be global climate change. Climate deniers--most of whom vote GOP--couldn't possibly have a more negative effect on US security than if they sold all our military secrets to the Chinese. At least we've got Kevlar, though!

I'm not a gay man, but I can tell you that straight women aren't stimulated by the sight of penises (straight or otherwise), unless the conditions are Just Right. No matter how fond you may be of your penis, your wife/girlfriend is probably the only person who would be "stimulated" at the sight of it.

I'm a woman in the military. I can tell you as a straight woman, seeing a guy pee in the tree line does not turn me on. Nor would I expect it to turn on a gay male.

women don't understand to the extent guys are horny pervs. men, gay or straight, think about sex constantly. probably 1,000 times more than women. straight men would meet women for anonymous sex in restrooms (or submarines) if attractive women were up for it. they normally are not. but when both sides of the equation are men, it is a different story.

Okay, so think about this. How do women handle it when male co-workers want to date them? If they're interested they say yes. If not, they say no. If male co-workers harass them, they tell them to screw off or they report them for harassment. Women have learned how to handle unwanted attention. What's the matter? Straight guys are so used to hitting on women that they are afraid someone might do the same thing to them? Well, learn how to say no, dudes! We have! It's not that hard. Use words!

But the reality is that gay men are so not interested in turning all you straight guys into gays! Get over yourselves!

It's really pointless to argue this with these guys. We got what we want (for once), and in the next few years it will become obvious that in fact there's no disruption or morale problem resulting, just as when the military was integrated before.

These guys won't come back and apologize then; they'll be too busy fighting fairness and progress in some other area. But everyone will know who was right, so there's no point in arguing it.

My DH is an detective. And a case he was on involved a gay marine. The marine said the best sex he ever had was while in the service. He said they have gay sex clubs and get it on whenever they can. He also had pictures. So, my point is "Don't ask, Don't tell" did not prevent anything. I think this type of behavior should be punished just like a heterosexual sex club would be. It is pretty simple. Otherwise, the promiscuous behavior goes both ways in the military hetero and homo. It seems like they are all sex crazed!!!!! Must be something in the food.

Manson is more of an antisocial. This is different to me. I used to think that panty sniffer was OC because of his hygiene obsession, but now I'm thinking more delusional.

I volunteered at Butner Mental Hospital and some of the guys on the bipolar/schizophrenic ward would do this. It was definitely a stream of consciousness triggered by invasive fear inducing thoughts, and there was an obsessive element to it.

In any case, he's not right in the head. It's more than politics.
