SR is better academically in her opinion but not by much. NCS is a great school academically (not catholic) but heard too many cutthroat stories and the girls we know there are the mean girls (although smart). She ended up at non catholic independent school.
Visitation is pretty rigorous. I have DD there and I teach grad school and I can tell you by the time they are juniors, many of them there are writing better than most of my students. Now, not all the girls take the hardest classes, but for the those that do, they are well prepared for college and beyond. I'm sure parents with daughters' at other schools can confirm that when the girls come back from even top tier colleges (i talked to two from William and Mary and Brown, specifically) they say the classes there are easier than Visi. To me that tells me Visi is passing the rigor test.
