Also I am anew PP and want to add that I switched my child from immersion to HGC and it was the best decision we could have made.
The challenge, the peer group, and the understanding the program has for him are unmatched. SO glad we made the switch. |

My understanding was that if you were immersion-by-lottery and were to leave the HGC, you would have to go back to your zoned home school and would NOT be allowed to return to the language immersion.
So that was my fear. I don't know for sure, though. |
I would look into that as I'd be shocked if that were the case, unless the classes were full. In our children's language immersion program, "late joiners" came each year. So long as they could speak/read/write the language, they were in. I would ask the question directly. |

When my child went to the HGC, the principal of our immersion school said he would let him back in if he wanted to come back in the first quarter.
He didn't want to go back, so we didn't test it, though. |
