Absolutely not. That is one thing I wish I would have done differently. I wish I had made noise about all the teachers we had heard negative things about to ensure my child didn’t have them. Every single fear that I had heard about came true. Some of the teachers we had were horrific and made the year awful. I noticed the PTA moms got the best teachers, or the moms who made a stink. Thankfully, a lot of the teachers have moved on but a few bad eggs are left. God the stories I could tell!

You can’t bulldoze through life for your kid forever. When you kid doesn’t like their teacher for Spanish or French in high school, you will not be able to get out of it.

This isn’t a case of your kid jut doesn’t like a teacher. This is a case of the teacher is incompetent and your child is actually harmed by being in that class. The anxiety and mental stress is real.

+2 this happened several years for us at Navy. Each time we were warned about that teacher bad it was totally true.

How are the second grade teachers? One 4th grade teacher did move to 2nd grade. Realizing now AAP is pretty much going to depend on HOPE forms since there are no more ability testings

Yes. And by truth you must mean that some Navy parents can be gossiping vipers who have nothing better to do than tear apart public school employees on an anonymous forum. Deleting posts helps keep up the image that “those” types of parents don’t exist there. The sad truth is that they do.

Nobody was naming names about principals. My guess is the posts were deleted because there are other threads on which Navy principals were discussed. Someone did name a teacher but that was deleted too. Agree that should not happen — parents need to get that kind of info more discreetly.

It can differ. For one of my kids there was always two AAP classes and four Gen Ed. For the other kid, I think there’s only one large class. In the past I think there was at least one grade with three classes. That was when overall enrollment was higher.
