Variety of colleges and majors, yes most had internships. DS - data science major at a public U - graduated with a job but was one of the few in his friend group to do so. |
What exact major? |
+ 1. They need to be informed. |
That's cruel not to tell the kids until a few weeks before the start date. |
Just a word on this: it is not tech recruiting season. You’re likely going to hear nothing from these jobs and they’re mostly looking for mid-level or senior roles if they’re currently hiring. Stay proactive in the fall |
Same here. |
Awful. PP delivered that line very coldly, so I feel bad for these GenX when these employers have no sense of duty or ethics. |
|
OOPS ^^ GenZ obvs... Sounds like pp is the AWFUL GenX.

Anecdotal. The data at every ivy/T10 that lists it has under 5% unemployed at 6mos post grad. The flagships I pulled up are are much worse. |
+2 State school grads are very much in demand by employers. I think people are wising up about Ivy grads. |
| My 2026 graduate civil engineer/pre architecture has a project engineering job with a construction management company. It is a return offer from where he interned last summer. He picked merit aid over an ivy four years ago and we are thrilled with the outcome. Plus plenty of funds left for grad school if and when he needs it. |
| Is teach for American still a thing? Was super population for grads during the 2008 recession. We always need teachers and that’s a job AI can’t fully do |
Lol.. I think the Ivy grads will be fine! |
Ummm ….the 25 grad is doing something wrong either with the search or the interview process.. |
