For real. So many universities have programs and buildings in DC. I don't think these programs and real estate are diluting anyone's brand. New York City and San Francisco seem like excellent places for juniors in certain fields to spend a semester. Good for Vandy. It's a rich school and they are using their money to build a more comprehensive experience for their students. They're not taking more students. These are just more opportunities for existing students. |

How many of the people complaining about Northeastern and Vanderbilt -- "brand dilution," "embarrassing" -- had those schools on their radar 25 or 35 years ago?

Yeah, she's a weirdo! I'll be sure to let her know you disapprove. Thanks for your helpful contribution! |
The graph says 2.33% for GPA 3.25-3.49 and 0.36% for 3.0-3.24. So 2.69% combined. Aligned woth the CDS. The chart under the graph seemes to indicate something else. Also, the link posted says 252 students submit class rank thus is 17.5%, which is not a representative sample. Please leave Emory alone. They should honestly doxx you, and get a restraining order against you. |
It may work, it may not. But their brand isnt strong enough for this. They'll end up hiding the stats of these locations. |
They’re not for incoming freshman, so your envy-laced use of the word “hiding” doesn’t work |
The stats will be the same as in Nashville. They are the same students and some will choose to spend a semester in NYC or San Francisco. |
+100! Vanderbilt also has a very high transfer acceptance rate relative to its peers. Its will only rise with these other campuses. |
Unpopular opinion clearly, but I don't think this is the same thing. There is one DC and it requires a lot of preparation and formal programming for you to work on Capitol Hill, which is why so many institutions have campuses there (along with the fact that many lobby the government and hold their offices on these small campuses). You can work in finance and tech in Nashville. |
"Hot" schools without much history or substance. Thanks for pointing that out. Vandy does have a good medical center though. |
Dp, but that's actually funny when talking about a school that accepts half the class test optional. |

Odd choice of city/neighborhood (it's in the industrial gritty, gentrifying area with lots of furniture stores that gets called "design district").
Also the campus they bought was the CCA, whic was a very creative, abstract modern space. Seems wildly different for Vandy's brand. I'm just confused by the choice. |

I think it was opportunistic, mostly. combo of a plug and play campus + motivated seller
Plus: housing. |
. 61% of admitted students submitted scores |
Do you think that sounds good? |
