One of the reasons I don't believe in Christianity is because the Jews did not believe in Jesus

And eckchewally, Jews read Torah, not the whole Old Testament.

Question: why are atheists posting on DCUM mostly aggrieved about Jesus and Jesus believers? Why not address Jews directly too?

I hear this complaint a lot, and it is pathetic because the complainers certainly know these things to be true:

1. Atheists don't believe in all religions equally. There are no degrees of not believing. Therefore there is no particular prejudice against your myth than any other.
2. Christianity is the most popular religion in the USA, therefore it would be sensible that most discussion of religion in the USA, for or against, would be about christianity. It's not that they hate your myth more. It's simple math.

Again, complainers know those things.

Well, I didn't know the posts were just a numbers game. Most religions in the US have "god" so I thought "god" would be the focus, not splitting hairs about is the bible taken literally, etc.

Honestly I wondered if Jews weren't mentioned or included in the "god crowd" for fear of seeming antisemitic.

God is the focus. God and is plan in the old testament to God and his plan in the new testament. Both God's have different rules and goals of their own. I didnt include the Muslim God or perhaps the Mormon God because I dont know those religions as well but this argument could be extended to them too. If they all say they are related why does God have different goals, rules, and people he cares for? Why would God be inconsistent? My assumption is that these are man made religions and man makes God in his image and needs of the time and this is why they are different, but it is rarely discussed why these religions pretend they are related through this one true God when to me they are just related because they are propping up the importance of their newer religion on top of an older religion with bad logical relational justification just to act like their religion has more substance and isnt as fringe.

Yes, believing in mysterious things who live in the sky is a little infantile.

Jesus nutters are trying to trash the constitution and force their beliefs down my throat.

Ok. So it's political, constitutional, human rights, liberty, freedom. Fair enough.
Although I think the nutters ( a distinct subset of believers and even of Christians) are trying that I can see how atheists have a bigger bine to pick with that.

So it's probably a poor time to really have a discussion of belief and atheism. I really would like that but maybe in a few years. Be well.

Anyone who still believes in God is part of the “God crowd”

You don’t have to believe in God to be an observant Jew, fwiw (though I’d imagine most do). Just perform the mitzvot.

Religions are cults nothing more nothing less.

You understand that the Bible is a collection of writings that have been written in several different languages and then repeatedly translated into all the world languages over time, right?

The English word “homosexual” was first used/invented in English in 1892, in a translation from German book, so of course it didn’t appear in earlier translations of the bible because it wasn’t a word yet. That doesn’t mean homosexuality didn’t exist before then nor that there were not other words in other languages used to refer to homosexuality.

Not a comment on religion or homosexuality, just linguistics.

The politicians we are angry about claim several religions and many don’t follow the religions they claim. Meanwhile many others who practice those various religions disagree with them on political issues and agree with you. Your issue is political.

If you are interested in God's holy trilogy then do read His third book.

Just because one person says it, doesn't mean it's true.
