40% of American women under 45 want to permanently leave

Being an immigrant is tough. I’m desperate to leave but nicer places don’t want Americans and getting a visa let alone citizenship is an uphill battle.

Silly boy, being an immigrant is only tough if you are crazy enough to do it legally. It’s much easier if you wait until the guy in charge is some moron who will fly you in, get you settled in a nice hotel, & give you a debit card.

40% of American women under 44 want to leave the USA

Interesting

In the current environment, it’s not surprising to imagine that people might respond to some poll saying they would like to leave.

If a poll asked if you would like to travel to the moon, I bet a lot of people would say yes. If you asked people if they would undertake three years of physical and practical training plus major lifestyle changes in order to go to the moon and that considerable risk would be involved, they would probably reply differently.

It’s just a poll.

Just go and overstay your visa. People here do it all the time and are celebrated. Just go somewhere with a one way ticket. What could go wrong?

Who celebrates someone overstaying his visa?

My DD are 14 is all about study abroad and never coming back. My DS age 16 wants to study abroad as well. Both have been paying attention to the news and A students. I have zero problem with their choices. When they leave I'm leaving too. DH is a white guy who was never about moving out of state but even he has become open to the idea of not being here.

This country is slowly but surely changing. It's not the country that was even a few yrs ago. While everything changes, our changes are horrifying. You all talk about pros and cons and not knowing how good we have it here with opportunities, freedoms and choices. Y'all understand all that's disappearing correct???!

People love to say this, but what exactly is disappearing? Most people moaning cannot name specifics that are factual. More minorities vote in each election than ever before. Women in red states may not have as much access to abortion, but guess what? Those laws were passed by democratically elected legislators. In Maryland, even though I am pro-life, abortion was enshrined by democratically elected legislators. If I don't like it, I can move. Our country was founded on the premise of federalism and varying laws for each state. And then there is the fact that most of these women are uneducated about the freedoms available to them in their fantasy countries. Restrictions on abortion, speech, political parties, etc.

If you would, please, please tell us about the freedoms and opportunities that are disappearing.

This is actually a great response. Actually it’s the best one I’ve read so far.

Thousands of Americans leaving.

New data, huge article from wsj

“ A Wall Street Journal analysis of 15 countries providing full or partial 2025 data showed that at least 180,000 Americans joined them—a number likely to be far higher when other countries report full statistics.  ”

“ In nearly all of the European Union’s 27 member states, the number of Americans arriving to live and work is at a record and rising. The total living in Portugal has jumped more than 500% since the Covid pandemic and grew by 36% in 2024 alone, official data there showed. In the past 10 years, the number of American residents has nearly doubled in Spain and the Netherlands, and more than doubled in the Czech Republic. ”

“ Last year, more Americans moved to Germany than Germans moved to America. The same was true in Ireland, which welcomed 10,000 people from the U.S. in 2025, about double those who came in 2024. ”
