It is pricey, for our family of 3 it is about $1000/day with hotel, aor fare and tickets. When I compare it to other vacations we have taken it’s not remarkably different |
I mean, you low-key excoriated me for daring to comment on a Disney thread. So chill out. And maybe examine why you’re so GD defensive over Disney. For the record, I opened up the thread because 1) I wondered if I would learn something new (I didn’t) and 2) I felt like it and 3)It’s a free country. So, chill out. |
I did not "excoriate" you. You came on here to "+1 MILLION" criticize anyone that is wiling to wait in line for something that is not the Coliseum. Maybe examine why you're so defensive about your travel choices, and why you feel the need to say the Lord's name in vain. So chill out. |
Ma’am/Sir, take a Xanax. |
| Points. And saving for five years. 100% worth it. |

Some people drive to cut costs.
Some stay at the least expensive Disney hotels. Some skip the meal plan. Some only go to the parks for a day or two. Fwiw, I know a lot of people who vacation at Disney resorts without ever going to the parks. The lower tier properties aren’t expensive. |
| I stayed 7 nights, $225 a night. I was only going to stay two but tickets get so much cheaper the more days and the Disney owned hotels get early access so we had chill days, ordered groceries, packed picnics and explored everywhere |
People love to feel superior to Disney visitors, most have never been or went in with a bad attitude and didn’t have fun. For me Disney is a trip I can take where my physical disability does not hold my family back at all and that means a lot to me. |
This is what I want to do. If you stay longer you don’t have to splurge on the park hopper tickets or after hours events to get all the park time in. That said I have a fear of everyone getting covid on day 3! (we got covid after our first 3-day trip there even though I had been vaxxed 3 weeks prior.) |
they are rich they do not give to charities they have 40,000 SALT tax loopholes. |
This. I use points to stay at the Swan. There are lots of affordable on-site hotel options. The only expensive hotel I would splurge for is the one at Animal Kingdom where you can see the giraffes outside your window. And maybe Yacht or Boardwalk to be extremely close to Epcot. |

Kids are older and glad to have checked the Disney box. While we make much more money now, than we used to, I don't know if we could afford, or justify Disney prices.
My spouse used to work for the Department of Defense, so we got to stay at Shades of Green, which is a great deal. The kicker is you have to be military or DoD to stay there. The hotel is located across the street from the Polynesian- great location. Hotel wasn't fancy, but plenty comfortable with decent amenities. It's been a few years, but I remember rooms being about $200. Similar Disney rooms were about $500. |
| Some of the hotels sleep 6 so it easy to bring grandma/others to keep cost down |
| We planned ahead and saved. |
| I have a friend who works for Disney. We wouldn’t have gone otherwise. She can get us a large % off of the hotels and get the three of us into the parks each day at no cost. |
