| They cost like $1000 per night. I can’t believe they are supposed to be for families. Who on earth can afford this? |
If you have to ask .... (clearly plenty of people can and are willing to pay). That doesn't mean you have to go there and pay the ridiculous rates. |
|
Lots of people can afford this. Lots of people are willing to stretch for this. That's obvious by the fact that they exist and thrive. If you can't, there are tons of options.
FWIW, I can afford it, but think it's stupid to pay that much. So we find alternatives. |
| What dates are you looking? There are also may levels of hotels. |
| I just searched the dates for my kids’ spring break and the prices ranged from 193/ night for the Disney all star resort to $890/ night for the Grand Floridian, with a wide range of options in between. |
|
They have all different price points from <$200/night in the off season to over $1,000/night.
You can get really significant discounts on the resorts if you're military or an ABC employee. |
|
I have never paid rack rate. I always get a discount ranging between 25 and 50%.
Last year we went over Christmas week (so top price) and stayed in a really nice deluxe resort and it was $750 per night including the tax and resort fees etc. honestly over Xmas week it’s hard to find anything much cheaper. Caribbean would be more experience for sure. I are you looking at grand Floridian? That place is always a rip off. Or a suite? |
| Yeah, I was just looking at this. It's wild. We may find the closest Hampton Inn. |
| We stay at the value resorts. It’s usually less than $200 a night. We could afford the higher end ones but it has never felt worth it since we go for the parks. I highly recommend the family suite at All Star Music. |
|
I’ve seen All star resorts as low as $98/night.
A lot of off site hotels will charge a steep resort fee or parking fee, so keep that in mind. |
| Look at the discount/value resorts. We stayed at the swan last year and it wasn’t $1,000/night. |
| They have different categories of prices such as Value, Moderate, Deluxe Resort, Deluxe Villa. You have choice. |
I do not recommend All star. It was nasty and as a woman I did not feel safe staying alone there. I was at a business conference. |
We did the Grand Floridian. It was great! My philosophy is I’ll do Disney once, so I should do it right VIP all the way around. It was expensive but I’m not going back |
| We are planning on going one more time with our kids when they are a little older (youngest will be 7). I am willing to pay $20-$25,000 for the trip. Then I will never go back ever again. |
