Schools that you think of as rich kid schools. If you’re MC, will your dc fit in?

I was a poor smart kid and I was pretty. I never felt bad being poor. I always had a job and could eat out. I was a good friend and people liked me.

Money isn’t everything. I used to have a girl whose stepfather was crazy rich. It didn’t matter. She was not a happy person. There was a model looking girl who used to jet set around the world and it sounded like her divorced model mom was depressed.

I ended up marrying a fellow poor hard working guy. Now we are rich and our kids will be able to do anything they want in college. We do not plan on giving them unlimited funds even if we can afford to do so. I will let them eat out with friends and go to the Caribbean for spring break.

No. Lots of MC/UMC students at those schools.

True but 10% of students at College of Charleston are top 1%. It’s a mix.

If you want smart middle class kids, apply to the Honors College at a large state school.

It is one of 38 schools in the country that enrolls more kids from the top 1% than from the bottom 60%.

THIS. Epitome of southern wealth, with sprinkling of rich from across the country. It's really unbelievable to experience.

DD toured W&L but the uber wealthy vibe was a turn-off for her. It has a great academic reputation but wasn’t a good fit. It’s a gorgeous campus though.

Yes, Emory seemed like a good college for a student turned off by W&L, more diverse, major city, NE students, less 24/7 frat/drinking culture.
