Amen. Filled ‘er up for $2.59/gal last wk.

Thank the Chinese EVs. They have reduced oil demand growth worldwide. There is an oil glut even with Russian and Venezuelan oil exports restrictions. The major producers(Exxon, etc) are all fighting it out in the under $30 a barrel fields(Nigeria, etc). If they only had access to Venezuela $10-$12 a barrel oil. Interesting the US and Canada are high end producers and is very little new wells being developed.

Gas prices are back to pre COVID levels. Not cratering.

Guess you do not understand supply and demand. It is pretty typical for you socialist Trumpists.

usually when gas gets cheaper so does everything else, like food. Gas is cheaper now, but nothing else is. So congrats on your cheap gas and your expensive ass everything else.

Ground beef 80/20 is $10/lb and stew beef was 8.50/lb. Coffee $ 11.50/22 oz bag. I don't eat gasoline.

It's weird...unless you run business with lots of trucks, the amount you spend on gas is really not much in the scheme of a monthly budget.

If you drive 1,200 miles per month (that's the high end of the average driver), divided by 26 mpg (low end of the average mpg of cars on the road), that's 46 gallons per month you are buying. Multiply that by $3/gallon, and it's a whopping $138 per month (vs. say $184/month if gas was $4/gallon).

So, you are saving on average like at most $46/month, but more like $23/month.

Compare that to what you are paying for groceries or going out to dinner or rent or whatever.

The oil and gas companies are not happy. Cheap gas means the economy is not doing well. I work for an energy trade. API is not celebrating this.

Oil companies know it demand is falling.

Alongside the production forecast, the EIA projects that West Texas Intermediate crude oil prices will average around $51 per barrel in 2026. Brent crude is expected to follow a similar trajectory, with prices falling as global supply outpaces demand growth.

Lower prices are largely tied to rising global inventories. As of late 2025, crude stockpiles are trending above the five-year average, with further increases anticipated. This overhang places structural pressure on benchmark prices, making it more difficult for producers to justify expansion.

In this environment, many US producers are shifting toward capital preservation rather than aggressive growth. With WTI in the low 50s, margins become tighter, especially for operations with higher breakeven costs such as deepwater or frontier shale regions.

China is buying oil to put in reserve but their demand is now for petrochemical use. Without this buying oil prices would be a lot lower. US production is most likely at its peak. It is already starting to fall. For the past 5 years the smart capital has fled oil stocks.

The world is moving away from oil and gas.

Usually when gas is cheaper, it means we are in a recession.

The Trump Recession is just around the corner…

Higher “groceries”
Higher electricity costs
Nobody can afford to buy a house

Thanks, Trump

And the savings in gas have been more than eaten up by price increases in food. I can limit the amount I drive, I can't limit eating 2-3 meals a day without getting malnourished.

Big deal. Cheap gas to drive to grocery store to buy groceries 30-50% higher since trump took office.

+1 lol so we can drive further or more frequently to the dollar store to get our groceries because prices at our local grocery stores have sky rocketed. I'm sure lower income people who don't have cars really appreciate the low gas prices, and higher grocery prices.

Merry F*n Xmas

Thanks, Trump. /s

Oh, and things at the "Dollar Store" are no longer just $1. Inflation and tariff prices have even hit the Dollar Store.

Five Below now should be called Ten Below.

Trump, making America unaffordable again.

Dollar store near me is now the $1.50 store.

Crude is down to $55/barrel.

That is really low and mostly due to reduced global demand, because most of the world is moving to renewable energy to power their economy.

The GOP fetish to align with Russia and Saudi Arabia and be reliant on oil is beyond me other than treason.
