The Op Ed Bennett left over it. He had other issues. Bari threw herself into the mix and claimed she was harassed and forced out, but the staff showed she was making up most of her claims. She quit. She is an opportunist and not a particularly good journalist |
Everything. If the premise is that CBS is going to be fair and balanced and factual from here out, that then also means they need to call out the Trump administration or anyone else from the GOP when they peddle falsehoods. I feel like ever since Biden's bad debate, most of the "main stream media" has gone coward, essentially abandoned that and now just does whatever it can do to avoid Trump's ire. GOP lies, and they pass it along to their audience. |
$150M I think but noted. And FP is not unprofitable, it has maybe 1.5M readers (whatever that means) but only 100k or so actually pay. How that translates to $150m is beyond me. That’s quite a multiplier. This obviously wasn’t a true business deal. |
| Bari Weiss is not a conservative. Lol |
|
I’m confused.
Bari was a conservative voice when she was on staff at the NYT, but that was in comparison to her fellow colleagues. I’ve thought most of her stuff comes across as moderate rather than far right or left. Admittedly, I haven’t followed her closely in recent years, but I can’t imagine she’s become some sort of rightwing nutjob. I mean, she’s a lesbian who has been fairly vocal on issues typically championed by the left. I understand some might take issue with whatever she’s said/written about Israel, but the reality is the Israel/Palestine thing has been a terrible battle for hundreds of years with both sides having blood on their hands and shifting culpability forever…and most people take soundbites out of context. Honestly, I think most people are gravitating to the middle these days. And I wish MSM would simply stick to the facts without any political spin. |
I mean, if you visit The Free Press TODAY, on the anniversary of Oct. 7, you are going to find a ton of Israel related content. But contrary to this response, I don't base my entire personality on a regional Arab conflict. If you must know, I can understand both sides. On the one hand, Israel's treatment of the Palestinians has been abhorrent for 75 years -- it would make extremists out of anyone. On the other, if I had a child being held hostage in a tunnel, I wouldn't stop until Gaza was reduced to a parking lot. What does this have to do with Bari Weiss? You think because she is Jewish, she is going pipe Netanyahu's whispers into our bedrooms at night via her global cabal of evil Zionist sympathizers? |
Other than being a lesbian, there is not much liberal about her. Ok. But what people are getting at is that she has burned many bridges along the way and there is a reason credible journalists don’t like her. She claims to be anti ‘cancel culture’ but then tried to have pro Palestine professors fired. She claimed to be ‘harassed’ and ‘forced out’ at the Times, but her colleagues showed she lied. |
It is not merely a regional conflict and you damned well know it, you lying POS. Israel and its interference and immersion and corruption of our politics is a fairly huge issue. |
Easy Kanye, you are starting to sound like every scapegoater in history who has chosen to blame the Jews for the world's ills. They are massively culpable for the suffering of the Palestinian people, but big yikes on the conspiratorial anti-semitism. We've seen this movie before. |
She’s not right wing, it’s that the leftists in the msm and here on Dcum have gone so far round the bend that they think anyone who steps out of the left-leaning line is a RWNJ. Bari Weiss speaks to the normal middle. Seeing the reaction to her appointment is making me excited for the possibility of a return of centrist media. |

Already pushing that pro Israeli propaganda

It’s a story about a guy held hostage by Hamas. If Hamas hadn’t held him hostage for a year, this “pro-Israeli” story wouldn’t exist. |
|
Bari Weiss is a stooge, groomed and then bought and paid for by the ones that shall not be named. Free press by no means has 150-250 mil valuation, people who want to push their propaganda are basically propping her up.
Also, she is a mediocre journalist with overall mediocre intellect but has no scruples selling propaganda benefiting a certain group. |
Have you listened to any of her interviews or read any of her articles? I think she creates far better materials than the majority of the current mainstream or alternative media. |
Is that all you’ve got? |
