This lady is a complete badass and she's fighting for things we take for granted, like being able to eat outside in the daytime during Ramadan.

She is trying to bring attention to how oppressive the laws are. By bringing attention she hopes to change them. People should not be jailed for using words, not matter how distasteful you find them. She actually didn’t say anything hateful.

Well her point was to offend the religion and not bring attention to how oppressive the laws are. If she didn’t like the religion, she could’ve done other things because I’m not sure what that really achieves.

Her point is to offend those in power and those making laws. Her point is to offend those who are oppressing her. Morocco is ruled by a king as an Islamic state. I’d say she said exactly the right words to offend exactly the right people. When religion becomes more important than people, you’ve lost the thread.

Let’s put you in a woman’s prison for 30 months for saying this stupid sentence then.

Sounds like that guy was actually violent. Not the same thing.

Nothing in that article says he was violent or caused property damage. He engaged verbally and said rude things about Islam.

You didn’t read the article you posted then. Because it clearly references him pleading guilty to violent acts. People who didn’t commit violent acts don’t plead guilty to them. UK of all places has cameras everywhere.

You have never had any experience in the legal system then.

Also, you can go to prison for words in the USA, called "assault". Sounds violent right? Laws are made to create fear in the populace.

In what state to you go to prison for verbal assault?

DP. You need to make a threat with intent and credibility. I believe someone in Loundon found out last year.

So nowhere?

Exactly. The overwhelming majority of people commenting didn’t even read the article or know that she is Moroccan much less anything else about the laws or situation in Morocco.

Why is she wearing a T shirt to offend a religion? That’s not free speech.

Surprised at the harshness in this case. It does not seem fair.

She got off with a light sentence for her offense. She needs to learn respect for other cultures and for other nation's laws.

She’s from Morocco. It’s not an “other culture” or “other nation’s laws”. It’s her country and their laws.
