Best dog breed in your opinion? And why?

We're a lab family all the way! I love that my English Yellow lab will go for a hike with me, then he'll jump into the lake at the end of the trail and swim for an hour until I have to drag him out! He's great with our two teenage girls and will lounge with my DH while he watches football. We'll never own another breed!

One word - slobber 😭
I like all gentle giants - mastiffs and great danes - delicate and slightly lazy.
But I could not ever deal with slobbery dog, I'd rather deal with shedding (and dog hair everywhere 😕)

NP. Haha! We had Grate Danes and mastiffs and I love both breeds, but the slobber is real. Of course we loved them regardless. The real downside of these breeds is longevity. They die way too soon and leave giant holes in everyone's hearts.

Mixed breed! Healthier and smarter.
Not a mix with pitbull, Rottweiler, German shepherd, Great Dane, jack Russell, Dalmatian. Most people can’t handle a “working” dog. No labs, they don’t live long, unless you are ok with that. Mixed breed with beagle or spaniel or collie.
