DP. I don’t support burning anything, including the American flag. However, just for your edification, you should know that the Supreme Court has upheld the right to burn the American flag under the 1st amendment. So while you may not like it, it is not illegal.

In the landmark case Texas v. Johnson (1989), the Court, in a 5-4 decision, held that Gregory Lee Johnson's act of burning the flag during a protest was expressive conduct protected by the First Amendment. The majority opinion, written by Justice William Brennan, stated that the government cannot prohibit the expression of an idea simply because it is offensive, and Johnson's actions did not incite imminent lawless action or disturb the peace. This ruling invalidated flag desecration laws in 48 states at the time.

Hence, why it's barely being covered live and sparsely attended by the GOP. The main Fox channel is going to be broadcasting the Yankees at Red Sox. The authoritarian parade is relegated to the Fox News channel.
