Either

1. She's in early stages of dementia.

Wow, I’m out of the loop. I had only seen his wife for the first time when they were with the Biden’s in Normandy for the D-day commemoration, last June. Not knowing anything about their relationship, I assumed she was ill and thought cancer. I searched their past and holy crap! Awful! She’s 72 and a pedophile.
