We buy two containers of this specific pasta salad each WF shopping trip. It's lasts about 4-6 days because the rest of us just take a little bit as a side item for lunch or maybe a snack. It seems at the very least uncivilized to hoover an entire container. Even if he's hungry, it's overboard, right?

You seem like you're desperate for this to be a problem, but it's a normal amount for a teenage boy to eat.

Exactly. And it was something healthy. Like chill the f out

I honestly don't think it's healthy. It's like eating an entire loaf of white bread with slices of mozzarella cheese & mayo slathered in-between each slice. Tiny bit of spinach but not much.

Plot twist - it's actually her step son

hahahahahaha i mean sure, but it's going to come back normal.

Almond moms pathologizing normal teen boy appetite.

I didn’t live in the house when my brother was a teenager and I only have daughters. I know teenage boys eat a lot because people talk about it all the time. It’s like a cultural thing/joke. You have to be living under a rock not to know. Also I, like many people here including the almond moms, am married to a former teenage boy. Why isn’t he doing anything.

great. now i have to try this salad.

Tell him to take a delicious piece of fruit and eat it outside.

Sounds normal. Not a regular occurrence but normal.

I also could eat a tub as a grown woman.

Anonymous wrote:I'm with you OP. That is glutinous behavior. He could have easily selected an apple, sliced veggies with greek yogurt or hummus, or had seconds of dinner. No need to consume all of those carbs right before bedtime. Next time tell him to take 1/4 of the salad, and pair it with something else. Just because he's a boy doesn't mean he can eat you out of house and home.

Agree that it's glutinous but disagree that it's gluttonous

As others have said, my kid eats a tremendous amount when he's going through a growth spurt. He doesn't like pasta salad but if he did, I could see him going for it.

Deli man said it's their top seller. I believe it. But eating over a pound as a snack before bed is a bit much.

Teen boys don’t nosh. They ravage.

The problem is that he wants expensive, delicious, and abundant snacks. Tell him he can choose two.

It depends, what else was in the fridge in sufficient quantity?

The fact that you are using words like gluttony and Hoover makes me suspect you are restricting calories.

Some of these posters clearly don't have or never had teen boys. They can and will eat a lot.If he's an athlete (both of mine were/are), his eating will likely only increase. Time to let him know what is acceptable and what is not.

Case in point: I had to ask DS to please not use an entire carton of eggs in one sitting without letting me know. Or eating the whole package of bacon. That sort of thing. At the time, he was about 5'8" and 145 lbs. Hollow legs, I always figured.....

Looks like you need to feed him more OP.
