Will Maga just watch the sinking ship or admit they were wrong?

So you wanted hundreds of thousands of unemployed people, a stock market correction and trade wars with our closest allies?

Yes. This shouldn't be hard to understand. Yes OF COURSE we wanted hundreds of thousands of cushy federal government jobs eliminated. These people have been working from home FOR FIVE YEARS. Yes of course we wanted a correction. We are the party of the middle class. We need cheap houses and cheap stocks to buy. We're not fatcat DC lobbyists trying to preserve high stock prices so we can sell and live off the proceeds now that the Dems are out of power. And yes of course we want trade wars. The U.S. is poised to win them. U.S. labor benefits from trade barriers more than from free trade and open borders.

Republicans are happy, not sad. Democrats, now out of power AND losing political activism funding they used to pilfer from the taxpayers, are obviously not happy. Nor should they be. They will be out of power for at least the next 12 years.

And MAGA CHUDs wonder why we call them idiots when they loudly and proudly write stuff like this that makes it absolutely clear they have no idea what they're talking about and blindly bite at whatever shiny object Trump and his ilk dangle in front of them.

They don't understand "working from home" is WORK. They don't understand that even if housing prices crashed by 30% they STILL couldn't afford to buy them (they were 30% cheaper only a few years ago, why didn't you buy then?!) and the ripple effects would be catastrophic. They DEFINITELY don't understand the first thing about trade wars as evidenced by the fact they think a drooling idiot President who doesn't even understand how tariffs work could win one. And the icing on the cake is accusing Democrats of "pilfering from the taxpayers" when they're literally watching the Republicans in power looting the country right in front of their faces while they're cheering it on.

GOP voters are truly the dumbest people in the country. Even people who choose not to vote at least have the excuse of ignorance or apathy. Republican voters looked at the stupidest, most selfish, most malicious man in the country with DECADES worth of examples of his complete idiocy and decided that was their guy.

Democrats are smart but the voters are dumb. That has always been why we lost, when we lost. But Trump has figured out a way to weaponize voter stupidity, so now he's winning when he shouldn't be. Should we adjust for this or not?

Do we take a few tricks from his book, dumb things down a little, slow down our progressive agenda a little, and get some yokels back onside? Or do we stay the course and hold the high ground? Once Trump leaves, we'll be faced with more "normal" opponents like Vance. He's evil too, but he's probably not quite as inspiring to idiots as Trump has been.

These are the things my MAGA relatives are saying on social media.

1. We knew prices wouldn't come down day 1. We knew it would take time. If you didn't know that then you're an idiot.

2. Through HIM all things are possible. Trust the process and keep the faith. It is always darkest before the dawn. We got this! (Not sure if the HIM is Trump or Jesus, but probably both, let's be honest)

(Typed out exactly as written by my uncle)
3. Yep prices are high as sh*t right now and yeah we prolly are going to go thru a recession but guess what? Not his fault at all and I and millions more get that. He cam in to the worst most f----- up economy since Regan It is going to take a lot to fix this sh*t. He is saving us millions uncovering the fraud and don't forget he donates his entire slary back to the US unlike sleepy FJB who stole stole stole from US and robbed the US blind!

Any MAGA that are deep in the cult will never admit that they were wrong. Those who have admitted to regretting their votes seem to be those who voted partyline because they always vote for a R or young people who voted for Trump because of Palestine.

Why would Republicans admit their vote was wrong? They won! So obviously their vote accomplished what they wanted it to. We're the ones who won't admit to being wrong. Which of our policies have we changed in response to the voters rejection of our platform? None.

We keep telling ourselves that the stock market or federal layoffs or Ukraine funding are the ultimate outcomes of politics, but those are all second derivatives. What matters first is winning and losing elections and being in or out of power. We just got booted out of power. Obviously we are the ones who should admit we were wrong. Something about our policies, personalities, and performance caused us to be rejected by the voters. We should figure out what it was and correct it.

I'm a local professor. I've talked to hundreds of young voters to try to find out what happened, and these are the 2 things I heard from them:
1. Palestine. They wanted a hard stance against Israel and pro-Palestine. They were very put off by Harris' statement “Israel has a right to go after the terrorists that are Hamas,” and believe that Israel did not do that. They think Israel went in like a bull in a china shop and caused as much destruction as possible and it wasn't a fair fight because Israel is so much more powerful than Palestine. They believe Israel used the attack as an excuse to eliminate as many Palestinians as possible not just Hamas.

2. The Harris campaign had a lack of direction. They don't think she had a firm stance on any policies. They do recognize that this was due to the restricted time she had to campaign, but they also believe that she was too meek to take any stances that were anti anything Biden believed or against any policies Biden had made.

People 18-44 overwhelming voted for Harris. However, people 18-25 overwhelming abstained from voting for a POTUS at all. I had 212 students during my Fall 2024 semester. Of those, 191 were registered to vote. Of those 191, only 54 voted for a Presidential candidate (52 Harris, 2 Trump).

I have 220 students for my Spring 2025 semester. 208 are registered voters; 68 voted for Harris; 4 voted for Trump; 1 voted 3rd party, and the other 135 did not cast a vote for a Presidential candidate.

Those are small sample sizes, but if that pattern continues across all campuses, as I believe it does, that is what sunk the Democrats this last go around.

Interesting, professor! What would you recommend if you were DNC chair? If you could define our stance re: Israel/Palestine, purely from a cyncial "turn out the Democratic vote" perspective, what should it be?

Don’t they want there to be someone looking for a cancer cure?
Don’t they prefer the great USA over Russia?
Don’t they like and use social security?
In years past wouldn’t they to think the idea of invading Canada is incomprehensible?

I am actually dumbfounded that they don’t want any of this .

It's a cult. There is no reasoning with this.

+1 Imagine Senator Thune's grandchildren reading that their grandpa willfully ruined their livelihood. Same for all the other weaklings. Ready to throw their families to the wolves because Dementia Don might say bad things about him.

Is this your sincere belief? That Trump is ruining the livelihoods of the Grandchildren of current Senators?

Yes. Because he hasn't said what this is about. Thune has no idea what he's doing, so why is Thune giving up his power to Trump? He's ceding his power for the whims of a narcissist with dementia?

So far he's dismantled EPA regulations, sided with Russia, alienated our WWII allies, stopped cancer research, started a trade war, cracked down on women's rights, and is shown that he believes that Feds, women, minorities, veterans, economists, journalists, and progressives are parasites. He doesn't care about fair elections, has invited people to dine with him for $5M, told Americans what stock he was buying today, and has threatened to invade neighboring countries. He's threatened the freedom of speech and ignored two emerging disease outbreaks repeatedly in 5 weeks.

Who knows where this ends? But, if it continues, yes, it's ruining our children's and grandchildren's livelihoods. It will take at least a decade if we course correct now, who knows how many will take if Thune and the GOP don't stand up.

The country is just getting more and more divided. I don't really see how it's fixable

Harris did articulate an economic policy change, but Trump voters didn’t watch a channel that reported on it.

Of course Republicans don't regret their vote. Of course they aren't yearning for Kamala's leadership. Of course they won't "admit they were wrong" to back a winning candidate and popular policies.

If the losing party, the Democrats, can't admit they were wrong to run on unpopular policies, then the winning party is even less likely to admit being wrong.

It is going to take months, maybe years everyone. They don’t regret it because the day to day impacts haven’t been felt.

This isn't how things work. Look at us Dems. We closed the schools and force-masked the kids, and now the kids have speech impediments and emotional problems. We propped up a senile guy and nominated someone who couldn't win a primary, and now no-one believes that we're "defenders of Democracy." We spent $200 billion on Zelensky, and he says half the money disappeared. Do we regret anything? Have we announced ANY changes to our unpopular policy platform? No.

We are so reluctant to change that our new political strategy is hoping that the victorious Republicans don't like victory. How's that working out for us? We're sitting around INSISTING that Trump is losing ground, meanwhile his approval rate is getting BETTER compared to ours (technically because ours is falling faster than his, lol).

Nothing we do is working. And it's all because we refuse to change. We believe ourselves to be holy. And holy people don't back down on trans folks or wars in Ukraine or Bidenomics. We will not change! The voters will! They will someday come to hate Trump like we do! It didn't happen by year 10 of the Trump era, but it might happen in time for his retirement in 2029!

Yawn. MAGA trash pretending to be a D.

STFU, bigot.

Quick question:
Are those numbers low for a presidential election? Aren’t college kids usually low turn out/ unreliable voters?

One simple question for MAGAs...what about those egg prices? Trump promised lower prices on Day 1. Instead, they doubled. What say you?

Have you seen Fox News lately? It’s all rainbows and puppies over there. It’s like they live on a different planet. One where Trump is doing a fantastic job.

Just stop, OP. MAGA are not going to admit they're wrong any time soon, especially not on this forum. Your thread topic is pointless.
