Spencer Pratt and the LA Fires

“I made, like, $4,000 on TikTok this week, but on TikTok Live, where people can just give to me direct, I think maybe $20,000. So that’s phenomenal, and life-changing. That’s the power of individual supporters, people just backing you and getting behind you,” says Pratt. “And that’s the most powerful when you don’t have to rely on ads or AI and algorithms when just actual human beings just want to give. It’s unbelievable and incredible.”

It is so incredible when people just give you money. So powerful when you don't have to share with the company platforming you and can just collect the dough (not defending TikTok and their ilk)

Welp, TikTok is going away, so Spencer will have to ply his trade on some other platform soon.

I used to watch Spencer on The Hills & I couldn’t stand him.

He was such a tool toward his own sister, Heidi’s family, Lauren, etc.
Sure it could all have been acting from a script but I believe he is like the “character” he portrayed on that show.

While I feel just awful that their family lost their home in the LA fire 🔥 - I don’t like him enough that I would be rooting for him to be on another reality show.

I appreciate his hustle - the struggle is definitely real - I cannot lie and pretend I am a fan of his just because his house burned down.

I have a tough time believing he is truly broke…in the sense that I would be today if my own house burned to the ground.

Yet I have nor wish any ill will on him or his family.

Good point here.

I feel so bad for them and their family, but it's kind of like slowing down to watch a car crash. It sounds like they made horrible financial decisions and since they don't have genuine careers to buoy them are having to strike while the iron is hot (poor choice of words, but summarizes my thoughts).

You feel bad for people who had several million dollars in cash, bought a house and didn’t get insurance? Maybe spend your time feeling bad for people who don’t have that kind of access to wealth or the ability to raise thousands of dollars in TikTok. Go volunteer at a soup kitchen or something.

+1

The Pacific Palisades is where very rich people live. They’ll all be fine.

I feel bad for anyone in distress because I’m not a monster, and you lack reading comprehension skills.

I was surprised to read that he has gotten quite a bit of financial support from his fans.

While I feel bad for his loss, I have to admit I was never a fan of his & probably would not donate a penny toward him.

So it is clearly surprising how much $$ people have given him.

Definitely good for him. 👍🏽

Maybe Heidi and Spencer should try getting a job? Nahhh easier to scam and grift 20 years after being in a cable reality show.
