Are goalies typically the kids who can’t cut it in the field?

a. You do not go to the right HS games. If you are talking high level HS you are just wrong. WCAC/IAC ect..
b. Still would not mean they could not play in the field I also see many small attackmen do very well.

Funny when people invent their own narrative and then try to stick to it even when totally off.

It’s true in the MIAA A which is better than the WCAC/IAC.
Sounds like neither of those leagues are any good, as its not true in Division 1. Maybe all these tiny goalies end up at Messiah or Greensboro.

You can probably get away with a Middie playing attack, or attack playing Middie, or D playing Middie, etc. But you can’t get away with any Middie, D, or Attack playing goalie. It’s the one position on the field you can’t hide in.

That’s great. Smaller kids can be athletic too. It shouldn’t just come down to being 6’4 and 200+ lbs like some sports such as basketball or college football.

Bigger is better

Yah, it is better in every sport but it’s one of the sports that it’s not required to play at a college level.

I think lax goalies are the toughest and most masochistic players on the team. My athletic kid was intrigued when a spot opened up because the primary goalie moved, and he had experience playing in the net in soccer, so he played one season and regularly came home covered in bruises. Back on the field now.

LOL from 2022 to 2023 I think the WCAC and IAC had the best run of goalies in HS history: Michigan, LIU, Manhattan, Duke, Ohio State, Penn, Marist, Utah, St. Joe's, Cuse, and the 2024 class Richmond, Boston U., LIU again, Before that Harvard, Boston U. and the tournament MVP for Yale... Yeah this area has had some great keepers

Yes many of these players had to deal with COVID lost seasons but many are also not small and were athletic type goalies. Some poster has some strange narrative that just does not line up with facts. Many of these goalies are over 6' and closer to 200+ lbs but that really is not the point. Lots of strong athletes at that position in this area. There is also a UVA goalie from this area who played club here who is like 6'4" and two top D3 goalies as well as NESCAC and CNU some played football and basketball as well. The PP just does not have facts just posts nonsense.
