What? No it doesn't. Not at all. Quite the opposite. It reeks of pathetic middle-aged mommies with nothing better to do because they don't have a challenging job. |
Anyone who thinks UVA kids are low on the intellectual totem pole is herself low on the intellectual totem pole. |
On average they really aren’t the brightest bulbs. It isn’t Princeton, and that’s okay. |
Lol. "Not the brightest bulb" can be found right here ^^. |
Oh wow, sick burn  It’s like talking to infants. |
It's mostly because it's boring to go to school where you live. GMU also has a lingering reputation (in the NoVa area) as a commuter school. In reality, it's a very good school with a ton of relevant programs and great integration with local employers. |
You are wrong and stupid, and it’s not okay. |
Glad you could get your feelings out, Susan. Don’t forget, circle breaths. It’s going to be okay. |
lol. and no, double Ivy alum, who values the great opportunities that the Commonwealth offers for higher ed. Both of my children went in-state VA. UVA kid is now at Oxford and applying to T8 law schools. GMU kid went to work immediately out of GMU for Google. Very happy with in-state schools ... but continue bashing away if that makes you feel superior. |
+1 Susan needs to get a grip and come to terms with the lack of intellect of UVA students obvious to everyone but UVA students. Stop pretending your public community college pipeline is all that. It isn't. Please realize this sooner rather than later to save yourself from embarrassment. |
I went to GMU and being as I’m the highest intellect and income on DCUM I’d say it’s a great school |
Hope Ryan is well. |
What’s funny about this thread is that the kids I know who go to GMU are hardworking, driven, securing internships and working hard in them - they don’t have the time or inclination to engage in the type of bickering seen on this thread. The inane bickering against GMU makes me like the school more, not less. |
Living far from home does help kids grow in a way that kids who stay home don't. It isn't quantifiable by an internship or a job but it certainly makes a person more interesting as an individual if they ventured out of their comfort zone/home area. That't indisputable. |
OP, if it's right for your kid, why do you have to be the self-appointed champion for GMU? Your mindset and approach seems so desperate. |
