They are really incredible. They exhausted the 28s, and they still ran to Maryland. It'll be funny to watch them squirm for the next 9-10 months though.

There were good 2028 players who left for MD teams before middle school. For the recent high school tryouts, ALL of the best remaining players tried out for Capital and every one who made the top team accepted the offer.

The 2028 Blue team surprisingly tied Hero's yesterday, so probably slightly less squirming today. Play day games mean nothing and Capital will still likely struggle this year, but there definitely seems to be potential to compete with top teams.

Before middle school would be 4th and 5th grade, so no-- that is not when they all left. You got several 2028 threads cancelled and are now plowing on almost 400 pages of nutzo in a year. Come on back when we see all the fall results. DC 29s and Cap B&O 28s.

Most of the good players tried out for M&D teams summer before 7th grade, and a few tried out the following summer. ALL of the best remaining players tried out for Capital and every one who made the top team accepted the offer. That is what happened.

To add, not one of those players that left came back to tryout for Capital. The Capital cheerleaders in here don't want to hear that.

Maybe it had absolutely nothing to do with Capital at all? If they found a great team to be on that fits them then why leave? Capital is doing just fine as evidenced yesterday.
Evidence yesterday suggests they'd be around the 25th or 26th ranked team based on last year's results. Or just ahead of Stars Light Blue.

Are you referring to Cap B? They have been practicing for about 6 weeks. They tied what is likely the best team in the country. I think they are feeling pretty good today.

As far as 2029s this year, m&d dc and blc are both decent squads, but neither will win anything of note this year. There is a big gap bw them and the top teams and there is no way to avoid those better teams. It will be interesting to see how pride does this year after losing a few players, and the other dc teams are just blah.

Um, I'm a 2029 parent and I happen to find the HS club tryout talk vastly more interesting than who is better among M&D DC and BLC.

They also lost by a good chunk to the 17th team. Numbers are numbers, you don't get to just scrub the ones you don't like.

Thanks, Pride mom. You missed this weekend's tourney, with 3 of the top 5 in the country, 4 of the top 10 and another 4 in the top 20. Where MNDDC made the finals, including taking out the #1 playoff seed.

Hopefully, your Pride squad can regroup, but it'll be tough to remain in the top 20 or maybe even 30.

You are the archetype of lax brodom. Please stay at M&D DC.

I’m not the PP but this was mean and unnecessary. If you were aware of the situation you would know the families left behind are the kindest families. I’m assuming the person who posted this is one of the former Pride families that left or a Next level parent that stayed. So you know the girls that stayed with the team were heartbroken and are doing what they can to rebuild. The team knows won’t be able to compete with the top teams this year and aren’t claiming too. Everyone left on that team is trying to make the best of a really hard situation. No need to talk down on your former team.

Lost by 4 to a very good team that will likely be top 10 this year. Again- Capital has only been practicing for about 6 weeks. Glad you’ve run the US Club Lax algorithms in your head (after two scrimmages) to produce a highly accurate prediction of where 2028 Cap B will be ranked. Your methods and conclusions are unassailable.

Who makes these rankings that some people on here covets so deeply? Are we seeing all the teams in the country in these rankings? I mean, I know teams in the DMV lose to the Yellow Jackets regularly and that's just Long Island, aren't there teams in Texas and Florida and California that are any good? Feels like folks here get all excited about meaningless 13 year old girls lacrosse rankings for a pretty unscientific and definitely small sample size of teams. Feels like click bait "Best College Bars in America" type stuff. But I'm sure some parent from M&D DC on here can set me straight.

This is exactly why next level parents are miserable. If you are a former pride family posting this, you found yourself a great home. If you are a former NL rebranded MNDDC parent, you continue to show why it is miserable to be around you in the sidelines. I hope Cap coaches are reading this thread for they’d do well to stay away from the negative atmosphere of your team. Y’all so easily forget that at this age the girls should be happy and have fun, but no, your poisonous lot are all about tearing teenage girls down.

Hi! You must be new here. Below is a link to the website with the rankings, which actually are a good indicator of a team's expected performance. The fall results can be misleading with so few games played, but once we get to the spring and summer they are pretty on target. Extra points if you actually learn the math behind the rankings.

Enjoy!

Yes. Psycho dads up and down the sidelines screaming their heads off. Been that way for years for ‘29.

Thanks, Mr. Helper! I think the point was you're obsessed about lacrosse rankings for 12 and 13 year old girls. You know, something meaningless.

Wait, what?!?!?
The PP said in these very quotes:
-decent, but will not win anything of note.
- big gap to other teams, and can't avoid them.
then:
- wondered how Pride will do after losing some players and the other dc teams (above) are "blah"

Took 3 shots, whatever it's a lower class board. So countered those caustic opinions with the only recent results.

Re: Pride players, read that paragraph again. They finished previously somewhere bt 15-20. The PP said they lost players. I said hopefully they can regroup, it'll be tough to be top 20 or 30. That was not a slam on the team or players, that was a reasonable assessment and only offered as it was asked about out loud.

You're trying to read into something that isn't there. As far as Pride mom part, you're right it could be Cap. Now go ahead and get wound up at them.

I wasn’t replying to the post you quoted. I was replying to the poster I quoted making disparaging remarks about pride not being in the tournament this weekend while simultaneously bragging about M&D DCs performance. After years of sharing a sideline, I’m almost positive which former Pride dad posted that. I just find it completely unnecessary to try and tear down the team they left behind. Especially considering the remaining Pride girls and their families have been nothing but kind and gracious in wishing the girls well in their new venture.
