I’m confident that Vanity Fair and other outlets published pieces around 5 years ago outlining how much Hines posted before RFK J’s divorce was finalized, showing her going to all the places Mary loved with Mary’s kids. She’s absolutely soulless. Cheating is one thing, this was extra. And it’s clear that people like Maureen Callahan, love her or hate her, doubt RFK Jrs claim about how he found Mary.

I had no idea that Nuzzi posted foul stuff about Obama on Twitter. She’s got a lot wrong with her. I’m cackling for Lizza’s ex-wife. Hope she’s curled up with the internet and an excellent red.

I can think of several prominent women who conducted well known affairs with people somehow associated from work and it hasn't had an impact. I don't think this is as gendered as you present. (If I were to venture a guess at what the actual main "fall out factor" is-- it's whether the person presented as having morals. If they don't, we don't really care if they have affairs. RFK Jr already had a reputation so it's already baked in with him.)

In this particular case, the affair partner RFK Jr has already killed children with his anti-vaccine stance, maimed a bear and left it in Central Park, gutted a whale, was terrible to his suicidal second wife and BBQed a dog--so there's not much more that could hit him that could change people's opinions about him.

Are you kidding? Look at Paula Broadwell. David Petraeus left Govt but remained a White House adviser and got a new position as a partner in a private equity firm. She became a pariah and no one would hire her.
