Everything he said in the article makes sense to me. He supports Israel, and he thinks lawmakers on both sides should seriously address the need for new immigration laws, which means dealing with the people crowded at the border trying to get into our country.

He's not saying "shut down the border" or "put kids in cages" He's saying that the US needs to find a better way to deal with all the people who are so desperate to come to the US. Quite simply, the laws need to reflect reality: We need workers, and immigrants fleeing from violence and poverty in their broken countries need jobs. Match them up, and everyone wins. But the GOP doesn't want to do that because then there'd be no "crisis at the border" and their Convicted Felon Candidate would have nothing to run on.

I agree with Fetterman that the US must support Israel. The anti-Israel/pro-Palestinian protests are a bit over the top, but I admire the passion of the movement. And of course Israel must end this war. The US has to insist on that. Enough is enough.

Fetterman is from a red state. He can't call himself a progressive. He's a Democrat, through and through. Not a conservative by any means, and certainly not a brain-damaged nut case member of the GOP.

+1 to all this except don’t call Pennsylvania a red state.

You can tell who is normal here by who just understands everything ^ as exectly right - and that for Pennsylvania, how the hell else do you think it could be?

I guess I need to read the full article or any other reporting. I’m getting the sense that he is speaking to the middle, the centrists. And that’s fine with me. We probably don’t see eye to eye on everything, but I’m willing to work with people trying to weigh it all and find solutions that actually work.

The problem is that Rs offer zero solutions. They are the ultimate do nothings. They veto bills they basically wrote. It is sheer insanity. They have given up on actually governing. I can’t believe people don’t see through their total BS.

He's not Jewish.

So what? Plenty of traitors were not from the countries they betrayed for.

Good grief.
Just come right out and say what you think of Jewish people. We know you are antisemitic. No need to hide it anymore.

DP why is it antisemitic to choose your God and religion over the US? Israel is a Jewish state.

Have you seen the line of American politicians waiting to go to Israel and kiss Netanyahu’s ring? He doesn’t have to be Jewish for being a pro Israeli.

The fact that we have hundreds of U.S. congressmen and congresswomen wearing lapel pins that literally bind the U.S. to the State of Israel - to say it feels like a fever dream would be to vastly understate how far our system has gone off course.

Wait........no comment about this???????

Also disgusting ... just as disgusting.

DP. I don’t recall anyone declaring the ubiquitous Ukraine flags as disgusting, ever.

Probably because Ukraine doesn't kill kids and commit genocide like Israel does. Use some common sense.

Follow the thread plz. That wasn’t wasn’t that PP was asserting.

Yeah, except the PP immediately - immediately - characterized the waving of the Ukrainian flag in the exact same way that they characterized the wearing of U.S. / Israeli flags on the lapels of members of the U.S. congress, after which they were told that nobody did that. Other than the fact they had just done so. But nobody did that. Except they did. Ad nauseam.

Do you understand the difference between claiming something as “disgusting” in this thread when called out on hypocrisy vs at the time it happened?

Do you understand the difference between being omniscient and possessing the time machine necessary to prove whatever it is that you're failingly attempting to prove vs. just being some perennial victim schlub who thinks by telling people what they REALLY think that you ACTUALLY have the ability to establish what they REALLY think?

We were told he’s mentally capable and sound by liberals and the media. Seems he got the brain damage as he was liberal and getting top quality medical care cured him and he realized liberal policies are akin to actually having brain damage.

Most of the population that is just center if left to the right already knew most progressives were mentally unstable and ill…so I’m glad he’s finally becoming a normal American

Yes, that's exactly right. But people like the proprietor of this website believe that being a centrist - and. more importantly, supporting Israel - is evidence of brain damage. It's a very fine website Jeff runs here. Might as well be holding a tiki torch anymore.

He’s apparently mentally stable if he says what they agree with and unstable if he doesn’t. The people who espouse these views are the brownshirts for authoritarian regimes.

NP. Wow, Jeff. You think this is okay? Really?

I don't know why everyone is so bothered. It's not like Fetterman himself is the model of sensitivity. He absolutely campaigned as a progressive. Now he denies it and expects us to ignore what we saw with our own eyes. Throughout the campaign he practically bragged that his wife had originally been an undocumented immigrant. She was his biggest asset and practically carried on the campaign single-handily while he was hospitalized. Now he sides with the Republicans on immigration. She has essentially disappeared from Twitter and other social media.

The idea that he had no idea what position progressives hold until recently is ludicrous. He campaigned along with them.

I guess you can go along with the poster above and simply write him off as another cynical politician who sells himself to the highest bidder. I think I am actually doing him a favor by attributing the changes to his medical condition.

You don't think people change their political views over their lifetime as they take in more information and rethink policies and views?

Is that verboten?

I think Fetterman represent most common sense, non-liberal Democrats. He is with the Democratic party once was.
