Any yet per the data posted above, Genie plus attractions are selling out early in the day for popular attractions under the new rules. How then, is restricting DAS helping? It’s just as likely that Disney wants to to sell more G+ and ILLs. |
They can also do it again and again, they aren't just limited to one a day. This is why they are so angry they know what a sweet deal they had but Disney nipped it in the bud for many. |
Probably because they can better manage crowds, lines, stand by times, etc for everyone. Not just the heavy repeat users. |
But one of the PP’s complaints was about Genie + availability. How is it helping? |
Do you not understand? Other people can't get any LL for popular rides even once. DAS users can get whatever ride they want, just by returning after the wait time, and they can do it again all day long. There are many more DAS users out there than you seem to realize. Restricting the number of DAS passes frees up availability for many other people in a more fair manner. |
it seems like with the recent narrowing of DAS eligibility, they are trying to keep the flexibility of DAS but for fewer people who really need it. that makes sense to me. |
the DAS changes have not fully phased in yet. the eligibility criteria changed on May 20 but a lot of people will have the eligibility under the old system for several more weeks since eligibility lasted up to 60 days. |
What do you not understand? The rules have changed, and a ride like Slinky Dog is still sold out within and hour, so how can that be caused by DAS abuse? |
and bring what, 8 family members?? |
1. Even if it sold out immediately a lot more Genie+ users might have gotten slots and at better times 2. DAS restrictions have not fully phased in yet |
Np. To answer OP’s question, my kids enjoyed it while we were there, but surprisingly they have yet to ask to return. My 8 year-old said she prefers skiing in West Virginia than returning to Disneyworld. I was shocked actually. She said she had more fun skiing, tubing, and also spending time in the pool at the hotel! I was like hotel pool vs the pools at Art of Animation?!! |
I think it is a one & done experience. It’s cool, but the hassles (heat, lines, etc) are a preventative crime going back.
You’ve been with your kids, so you had the experience- why do you want them to go back? |
Do you think there hasn't been any DAS abuse? It's really neither her nor there if you personally thought there was a problem, the rules have changed regardless. |
It is hot. Crowded. Long lines for 1 ride.
Honestly if you are a Disney lover, go stay at the resorts for a long weekend. Enjoy the pools at your resort & go to Magic Kingdom one night as a super special treat for a few rides. It really is overwhelming & too much for most kids. |
Yeah, it kind of sucks. We’ve been twice & joke about all the kids we heard ask “can we just go back to the pool?”
Disney made it too difficult to enjoy. It is such a haze trying to get spots on a ride, & the. The parents are stressed out getting there, & spending all day on their phones trying to get slots..it’s a lot. |
