What a dumb comment. Many Americans are dying every year from eating fast food and ultra processed food heavy diets. These foods destroy the gut biome and are linked to colon and other cancers, to heart disease, to T2 diabetes and T3 diabetes (otherwise known as Alzheimer’s and related dementias).

This board is full of people who are progressive in all other kinds of ways, how can you all be so dumb about the dangers of these YES poisonous food products? Yes, food products - they are not real food, you could not make them in your own kitchen they are chock full of additives and preservatives that you would never put in the food you prepare at home.

No fast food is not strict.

There are organic grocery stores everywhere, PP.

So when you’re on the highway, you leave the highway, drive into the nearest town, and attempt to locate an “organic grocery store” that may or may not be there? (They do not exist everywhere, contrary to your opinion).

You realize you’ve added an hour at least to your trip. Normal people either pack their own food or just bite the bullet and get a burger at the rest stop. Once in a while it’s not going to hurt you.

Plan ahead and pack food. Sweetgreen will do in a pinch. Starbucks spinach feta wraps or some egg white egg bites in an emergency.

Yep! My kid attends the fanciest top private school in my the city (not DMV, but major city) and they just had an all school pizza party. I think it was Dominos. You'd have to pluck your kids from school or have your kid be the one left out. Why would anyone do that intentionally?

a mom friend wants me to watch what her 11 and 14 yr old eat here. I finally had to tell her that it's mostly healthy and I"m not monitoring them. When they come over now and ask for something, I say "you know your mom's rules and you can follow them or not". Dad desn't care.

I’m just laughing at all these ridiculous people on this forum. I have to believe a bunch of them are trolls. Thank you for the morning laugh.

When the fast food/UPFs eaters on this board can’t remember their children by they time they are late 60s/early 70s, we can mock them for mocking the parents who care about the diet being consumed by their kids. Right?

I don’t consider anything from Starbucks to be much better than McDonalds. It’s all heavily processed.

My SIL freaked out when I fed her kid PB&J on white bread.

Yes it was delicious and yes PB&J at her house was never the same.

OP stop lashing out at other parents, and teach your child to behave according to your values when she goes out. My kids are vegetarian. Do they eat meat burgers at friends houses? No, they politely decline.

Why did you raise a child who voluntarily poisons herself? Be a better parent.

+1 and also you are a total freaking nut.
