I’m still waiting for OP to explain this.

My boy child keeps ear buds in bc they help them concentrate. It could just be an ADHD or ASD thing too.

90 replies, probably 80 of which are dorky men triggered by being called ick.

This is such a dumb thing to care about.

They are so easy to get riled up.

Is he masculine, though, or just rich?

My favorite dcum poster is this lady. Whatever the discussion, she can find an opportunity to bring up her HHI of 10M+

My dream is that she's the same lady that only values equity partners

My husband goes for walks/rides the metro with them in and listens to nerdy comedy podcasts (sometimes political ones!). I don't think he cares what you think.

Yuck.

makes me think of sweaty, hairy, waxy ears.

Not a man, but triggered by a grown woman repeatedly saying “ick” or “the ick”. Extreme secondhand embarrassment.

Exactly my thought!

I wear AirPods when I walk so that I don't disturb others. I listen to audiobooks and am learning a language. If anyone wants to judge me, that's on them.

I think this response teases out the male personality type that does this, which makes it ick. Having AirPods in your ear all day so you can pretend to "read" countless books is ick. A male putting a piece of electronics in his ears to avoid the world around him is ick. It's just not masculine behavior.

I don't see the connect between airpods and masculinity.

I think you have a screw loose OP. You are the problem.

(I am a female who don't even have airpods and really think nothing of them)

Like yours?

That pp didn’t start a whole thread with theirs.

I'm a woman and I wear mine quite a bit during the day. While I'm working I'm listening to music or on calls, otherwise I'm listening to audiobooks while doing things around the house. It would never occur to me to judge a man for doing the same thing.

+1000. The OP may be too old for Longfellow Middle; however, she should have left saying things like "He gives me the ick" behind once she was old enough to go to McLean High.

You are an odd one, OP.
