Short DJT?

Trump and other execs and early investors will be free to sell after close today. Stock continues its steady decline.

Trumps stake is down to $1.7B, it’s half his net worth per Forbes.

If DJT slips below $12/share by tomorrow, then he cannot sell.

From Barrons:

According to the merger agreement, Trump will be allowed to begin selling DJT stock if the share price remains above $12 for any 20 trading days following the 150 days after the closing of the DWAC deal, which it so far has done. If the stock dips to below $12 by Friday, Trump can instead begin to sell on Sept. 25.

The issue is that while Trump owns 57%, there are other insiders with sizable stakes who are also free to sell.

Trump is not going to leave $1 billion in free money on the table when he knows the stock is essentially worthless. He'll dump it as soon as he possibly can.

Going to have to unwind slowly in order to get real money out. Which also means finding more buyers. Expect some increasingly unhinged news to keep true believers buying over the next two months

The market seems to agree with you. Shares have now fallen below $15.

New low. $14.94 earlier this morning. First time it has dropped below $15.00

And it is now sitting at $14.98.

Even more remarkably, the rest of the market is up.

Not really remarkable. DJT is not a typical commodity. This is not just a company for investment, this is a company tied to a political movement and a person. The value of the stock is more tied to the person and the movement than it is to any market values.

What does it open at tomorrow morning?

I say $10.50.

It's at $14.75

It's in the Russel 1000 and any Nasdaq total market index funds. They will not dump it unless it gets delisted. So I bet it remains over the $12 hurdle price so he can exit tomorrow. And then it gets delisted over the weekend or early next week.

Index fund investors end up as the bagholder without even realizing they are invested in DJT. It's actually a brilliant, yet scummy play.

I assume Trump will need new buyers tomorrow if he decides to dump his shares. Who would be willing to buy, knowing the price is about to plummet?

Have you met any MAGAs? They are not the brightest bulbs.

It’s a cult.

He could just use options to exit and get cash while holding off on disclosures for a few months.
